Steve Conrad

Steven "Steve" Conrad (* 1968 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) is an American screenwriter , film producer and director .

life and career

Born in Fort Lauderdale (Florida), Conrad attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School and briefly Florida State University before moving to Northwestern University . Shortly after graduating from Northwestern, Conrad sold his first screenplay , Walter & Frank - A Weird Couple, at the age of 19 . It was the adaptation of a short story that Conrad had written for a school class assignment. Eleven years passed before he tackled his next project, Lawrence Melm . He wrote the script and directed. This was followed by The Weather Man , which he also produced, The Pursuit of Happiness and Top Job - Showdown in the Supermarket , which premiered at the South-by-Southwest Festival in March 2008. In 2013 he wrote the screenplay for The Amazing Life of Walter Mitty based on a short story by James Thurber .

Conrad is the brother of actor Chris Conrad and currently lives in Chicago .
