Architecture has been at the center of Steve Johnson's sculptural work since 1998 . By recreating real buildings in miniature as detailed architectural models and hanging them high on the walls of the exhibition rooms together with the earth below, he conveys unusual perspectives of perception . As a subject he serves here u. a. Dachas , pubs or traffic islands . Johnson wants to focus on what is actually invisible, in the broader sense the matter on which these architectures are built, the earth. The buildings towering over the mighty chunks of earth are deprived of any haptic or visual approach.
