Steve Starkey
Steve Starkey is an American film producer .
Life
Starkey began his career at Lucasfilm as an assistant editor on The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi . He later worked at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment as the production manager of the television series Fantastic Stories . Since the production of Game of Thrones with Roger Rabbit in 1986 he worked for many years with Robert Zemeckis , in 1998 he founded the film production company ImageMovers together with Zemeckis and Jack Rapke , which was bought by Disney in 2006 . The joint productions by Starkey and Zemeckis include Forrest Gump , Contact , Cast Away - Verschollen and Der Polarexpress .
In 1995, Starkey won an Oscar when Forrest Gump was named Best Picture.
