Steven Sharfstein

Steven Samuel Sharfstein (born July 2, 1942 in New York City ) is an American psychologist and psychiatrist .

Life

Sharfstein attended Dartmouth College after completing his schooling , where he received his BA . He then went to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City , where he received his MD in 1968 . After graduating, he was at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston , Massachusetts from 1969 to 1972 and then at the John F. Kennedy of Government from 1972 to 1973 , MPA Sharfstein was the president of the American Psychiatric Association in 2006 . Sharfstein is also a Clinical Professor and Vice President of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland .

Sharfstein is the author of more than 150 scientific articles and 40 book chapters as well as co-author of ten books.
