Steven Smith (born October 22, 1962 in Bingley , West Yorkshire ) is a former British show jumper .
biography
Steven Smith is the son of the former top jumping rider Harvey Smith and brother of the also highly successful Robert Smith .
In 1984 he won (on Shining Example) together with John Whitaker (Ryan's Son) and Michael Whitaker (Overton Amanda), as well as Timothy Grubb (Linky) the silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles .
Only a short time later, a serious motorcycle accident broke the dream of a great equestrian career.
In the fall of 1998, he circumvented an immediate prison term for alleging a mental disorder. Smith was caught driving a ban on driving. When the police stopped him, he gave false information, claiming to be his brother Robert.
