Stefan "Stevko" Busch (* 1966 ) is a German, in the Netherlands working jazz - and improvisation musicians ( piano ) and composer .

Live and act

Busch grew up in Leichlingen in the Rhineland and studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam until 1995 . Busch has formed a duo with Paul van Kemenade since 1995 , with whom he recorded the albums Contemplation: On Songs, Russian Chants, Miniatures (2010) and Dedication (2016). Since 1996 he has been part of Willem van Manen's big band Contraband . He continued to work in Eckard Koltermann's quartet ( Here Comes the Moon ), in a duo with Misha Mengelberg and with his Stevko Busch Project with Dana Jessen , Radek Stawarz , Paul Hubweber and Saartje van Camp . With Norbert Scholly and Kai Wolff he forms the electronic trio Box of Toads , with which he received the 2001 JazzArt Award . In the Fugara quartet he plays with van Kemenade, Markus Stockhausen and Markku Ounaskari . Since November 2006 he has been curator of the informal concert series Pianolab with composed and improvised piano music at the Goethe-Institut Amsterdam. Busch also composes for contemporary music ensembles and film soundtracks. His spatial sound composition Europealis was u. a. listed in the Stedelijk Museum . He held several workshops at the Arnhem Conservatory .
