The Zermatt Stockhorn is a mountain with a height of 3532  m above sea level. M. in the Swiss canton of Valais between the Triftji glacier in the north, which reaches up to the summit, and the Gorner glacier in the south. The Stockhorn is the eastern end point of the ridge, which runs up from Zermatt via Riffelhorn and Gornergrat . To the east, the Stockhorn Pass ( 3387  m ) separates the Stockhorn from the Weissgrat .

About 1200 meters west of the summit is the Stockhorn mountain station of the Zermatt mountain railways, which at 3405  m is the highest point in the Gornergrat ski area . The Stockhorn station could be reached from Zermatt with the Gornergratbahn and two cable car sections via Hohtälli . The cable car from Hohtälli to the Stockhorn was closed in April 2007 after more than 50 years, as the operating license has expired. The plants were dismantled in summer 2008.

A drag lift coming from Triftji serves as a replacement for the cable car. It was put into operation in winter 2007/2008.
