Stolzenhain / Hartmannsdorf (until October 6, 2004 Stolzenhain ) is a district of the small town Schönewalde in the Brandenburg district of Elbe-Elster . The landscape of the place can be assigned to the Lower Fläming.

location

The place is about 6 km northwest of Schönewalde. The Linda-Schönewalde road cuts through the town roughly in its center.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1376 as Stolczenhagen . Little is known about the local history before 1900. In 1721 there were two windmills in the village, one of which existed until after 1945. The village of Hartmannsdorf, first mentioned in a document in 1419 as "Hartmarstoff", has been part of the municipality of Stolzenhain since 1973. The Stolzenhain special weapons warehouse was located in the forest from 1967 to 1990 . According to the local form, it is an anger and dead end village with an estate. The wide, rectangular green is bordered by streets. The place is characterized by residential and farm buildings from the middle and second half of the 19th century and from the first third of the 20th century.

During the GDR era, the "Bienchen" holiday camp was built and maintained in the Stolzenhain district .

On December 31, 1998, Stolzenhain together with Ahlsdorf and Brandis formed the new municipality of Heideeck, which was incorporated into Schönewalde in 2001. The district was renamed Stolzenhain / Hartmannsdorf on October 6, 2004.

Culture and sights

Stolzenhain Church

On the north side of the Lindenweg in the center of the village is the village church , a field stone building from around 1300. An outstanding piece of equipment is a late Gothic winged altar from the last quarter of the 15th century. Next to the church is the rectory, a two-story plastered building with a half-timbered stable that was built around 1850. The ensemble is completed by the two-storey school building from the last quarter of the 19th century, which was constructed using exposed brick.
