Stony Brook is a creek in the north of the US state Minnesota .
It rises at around 470 m above sea level in Itasca County , about 30 kilometers north of City Keewatin . The stream flows in a north-easterly direction through various small wetlands and past a campsite. Eventually, the Stony Brook crosses the St. Louis County border at Bear River and joins Bear River Creek . Shortly thereafter, the stream flows into the Bear River at 386 m above sea level . It belongs to the catchment area of the Rainy River and thus the Hudson Bay .
The Stony Brook is 18.1 km long and has a catchment area of 53.9 km². Most of the creek runs in the George Washington State Forest .
