The Storchenkolk or Vodes Kolk is the karst spring of the approximately 1.1 km long Biske ( GKZ : 27828692) in the Paderborn plateau in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Biske - flowing to the old mill

The Storchenkolk is located in the Borchen municipality on the eastern edge of the Kirchborchen district . He is at about 138  m above sea level. NHN in a wood and is not far from the old mill. The from the Kolk flowing Biske flows through the location 100 m south of the underground hiesig extending Ellerbachs or Bachstrasse in a westerly direction and opens on the left side and from the southeast coming in the zoom from the east flowing Ellerbach. This flows directly west of the town center into the Altenau , which drains over the Alme into the Lippe .

Surname

According to a legend, storks are said to have fetched small children from the water of the stork's col. It was impossible to explain the origin of the deep green-blue water, from which silver bubbles constantly rise.

Data

The karst spring of the Storchenkolks pours out around 120 liters of water per second. It is light only after heavy rainfall cloudy and has a constant temperature of 8 to 9 ° C .
