Paderborn plateau
The geological structure of the Paderborn plateau is the south-eastern end of the Westphalian Bay and at the same time the largest limestone and karst landscape in Westphalia . In the natural structure of the handbook of the natural structure of Germany , it is assigned to the Upper Weserbergland in the Lower Saxony mountainous region .
In the west, the Almetal forms the border with the Hellwegbörden with the Haarstrang in the south, which is followed by the lip lowlands , the Senne and the Teutoburg Forest to the north . The Egge Mountains border the eastern edge . The southern end is bordered by the Sauerland and the Waldecker Tafelland .
The Paderborn plateau is divided into four sub- landscapes: the Sintfeld in the south, the Brenkener Bergplatte in the west, the Bockfeld in the north and the Lichtenauer Bergebene ( Soratfeld ) in the east.
