List of the natural spatial units in North Rhine-Westphalia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This list of the natural spatial units in North Rhine-Westphalia reflects the natural spatial units of a higher order, insofar as they are wholly or partly in the territory of North Rhine-Westphalia . It is based on the natural spatial structure for Germany, as it has been carried out since the 1950s and presented in the Handbook of the natural spatial structure of Germany .

Systematics

The natural spatial units of the first, third and fourth order are listed, i.e. H. Major regions, main unit groups and main units. Those second order units (regions) take into account v. a. Geological factors are generally only rarely listed and are therefore omitted here, also for reasons of clarity.

The natural spatial main units are further subdivided into sub, partial and basic units, the listing of which would go beyond the given framework.

The two and three-digit numbers in the list refer to the system introduced in the manual . The superordinate two-digit numbers beginning with "D" correspond to the newer classification by the BfN from 1994, the z. T. summarizes several old main unit groups.

Units marked with an asterisk * are mostly not in North Rhine-Westphalia, but in one or more of the other German federal states .
