The Münstereifeler Wald is a wooded area in the northern part of the Eifel in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ). In the south it borders on Rhineland-Palatinate . It is 237 km² and between 200 and 500  m above sea level. NHN high.

The mountain and forest landscape of the Münstereifel forest is located in the Euskirchen district around the city of Bad Münstereifel . Its area borders in the west on the Kalkeifel , in the south and east on the Ahr Mountains and in the north on the Zülpicher Börde , which forms the transition between the Eifel and the Lower Rhine Bay .

In the Münstereifel Forest you can also find rare animal species that require large forest areas such as the Bechstein's bat and the wildcat . In addition, the forest provides habitat for gray-headed woodpecker , black woodpecker , red kite , kingfisher and greater mouse-eared .
