Rahden-Diepenauer Geest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rahden-Diepenauer Geest is a natural spatial unit in the extreme northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia and in the neighboring Lower Saxony . It encompasses the mostly gently undulating Geestland between the Lübbecker Lößland in the south, the Diepholzer Moorniederung in the north, the Middle Weser Valley in the east and the western Wiehengebirge and Bersenbrücker Land in the west. The Rahden-Diepenauer Geest is part of the Dümmer- Geest lowland and thus belongs to the North German lowlands , although the Stemmer Mountains already form foothills of the low mountain range .
