Raddestorf is a municipality in the Nienburg / Weser district in Lower Saxony . It belongs to the joint community of Uchte , which has its administrative seat in the area of Uchte .
geography
Raddestorf lies between the Dümmer Nature Park and the Steinhuder Meer Nature Park, roughly halfway between Sulingen and Minden on the state border with North Rhine-Westphalia . The municipality of Raddestorf consists of the districts Huddestorf , Dierstorf, Gräsebilde, Raddestorf, Jenhorst, Kleinenheerse, Glissen, Kreuzkrug and Harrienstedt.

On March 1, 1974, the communities of Harrienstedt, Huddestorf, Jenhorst and Kleinenheerse were incorporated.

The council of the municipality of Raddestorf consists of 13 councilors. This is the specified number for the member municipality of an integrated municipality with a population between 2001 and 3000 inhabitants. The council members are elected for a five-year term by local elections. The current term of office began on November 1, 2016 and ends on October 31, 2021.

Culture and sights
A watermill in Harrienstedt is documented as early as 1583 . A functioning successor building from 1837 is still there today. The mill forms station 37 of the Lower Saxony mill road / region between Weser and Hunte.
A section of the Westphalian Mühlenstraße also runs through Raddestorf . The Großenheerse windmill is only about 100 meters behind the municipal and state borders.
Economy and Infrastructure
The community is located directly on federal highway 215 , which leads from Stolzenau to Petershagen , and on federal highway 61 , which leads from Minden to Bremen .
