The municipality of Balge is divided into the districts of Balge, Blenhorst , Bötenberg , Buchholz , Buchhorst , Dolldorf , Holzbalge , Mehlbergen , Möhlenhalenbeck and Sebbenhausen .

history

On March 1, 1974, the communities of Balge, Blenhorst, Bötenberg, Buchhorst, Holzbalge, Mehlbergen and Sebbenhausen were merged into a new community. This was named Blenhorst . On January 23, 1976, her name was officially changed to Balge .

Culture and sights

Buildings

  • In Blenhorst there is a saw and grinding mill built in 1769 , which has two water wheels to drive it.
  • There is a watermill in Bötenberg , the Benther Mühle. It was put into operation in 1553 as a flour mill . Later the mill also served as a sawmill . However, the mill has been shut down for several years.
  • The village church in Balge with the distinctive defense tower was built around 1300 in Romanesque form.
  • In Sebbenhausen there is a water mill built in the 1600 century, which originally had three grinding aisles. In the 1950s, however, it was converted into an agricultural building.

Sports

In the municipality of Balge there is a sports club (SV Sebbenhausen / Balge), several shooting clubs and two marching bands in the individual districts.
