Binnen is located in the Nienburg district roughly halfway between Bremen and Hanover at the confluence of the Great Aue with the Weser .

Culture and sights

The church in Bühren, built in Romanesque style, dates from the 13th century. The church was badly damaged in the Thirty Years War . Since the necessary building material for the repair was missing after the end of the war, the holes in the church walls were not patched with bricks in the monastery format customary at the time, but with field stones. This renovation method is still visible today on the outer walls. The interior is kept simple.
The Gothic baptismal font of the Bühren church dates from the 15th century. The church organ, made in the first half of the 19th century, is a listed building.
The small Gothic brick church in Binnen was built around 1350. As a special feature, it contains a purely mechanically driven clock in the church tower.
In the church garden of the Binner church there is a 450 year old linden tree and three yew trees that are said to be between 600 and 800 years old.
