Store Spjellerup is a Danish town with 247 inhabitants (as of January 1st, 2020). The village is located in the parish of Spjellerup ( Spjellerup Sogn ), which until 1970 belonged to Harde Fakse Herred in what was then Præstø Amt . With the dissolution of the Harden structure, the parish was included in the Fakse Kommune in what was then Storstrøms Amt , and the municipality in turn became part of the Faxe Kommune in the Sjælland region with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .

Store Spjellerup is about four kilometers south of Karise , about nine kilometers east of Faxe and about 24 km south of Køge .
