Storvik is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Gävleborgs län and the historical province of Gästrikland in the municipality of Sandviken .
The place is 15 km west of the main town of the municipality, Sandviken . Storvik was 1924-1970 a minority ( Swedish köping ) and was incorporated on January 1, 1971 into the municipality of Sandviken.
history
The Gävle-Dala Järnväg railway (today Bergslagsbanan ) was opened to Storvik in 1858 (the station at that time was Storviks övre ). In 1875 a new Storvik station was built when the Norra stambana Stockholm - Uppsala - Krylbo - Storvik reached its destination here, 218 km from Stockholm. The continuation to Ockelbo and Ånge followed in the years 1876 to 1881.
The station building ( Storviks station ) from the mid-1870s was designed by the architect Adolf W. Edelsvärd .
According to city planning, the place was built on with a right-angled road network. The former post office and the former courthouse ( tingshus ) are located near the train station . Storvik has a number of industrial operations such as B. ABB Service AB .
