The Lipova tram was a tram in the small Romanian town of Lipova . It ran from 1911, when the place still belonged to Austria-Hungary under the name Lippa , until 1936 and was operated as a horse-drawn tram ( Hungarian : lóvasút). The 3.742 kilometer long, narrow-gauge interurban tram had a gauge of 700 millimeters and connected Lipova with the peripherally located spa Băile Lipova , a so-called Sauerbrunnen (Hungarian: Savanyúkút fürdő ), which was originally called Lippafüred or Lippafürdő . The route began at the Turkish Bazaar on what was then Piac tér (German: market place) and led through Strada Nicolae Bălcescu (originally Fő utca ), Strada Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu and Strada Lugojului to the outskirts. From there she followed the old country road to Lugoj to the spa. There was no direct transition to the Arad – Alba Iulia railway line opened in 1868 or to the Arad – Podgoria local railway opened in 1906 . In Lipova, the spa guests arriving from the train station in the Radna district had to cross the Mureș River on foot. Here, through Híd utca - today's Strada Nicolae Titulescu - a footpath of about 500 meters had to be covered.

The construction of the line was decided in 1908 on the initiative of the then spa director István (Stephan) Huzli, construction began in 1910. The railway was operated with a single summer car , which was usually pulled by two horses. From 1936, when the spa was extensively rebuilt and the tram tracks were removed, buses finally replaced the train.
