The Strada Statale 30 is an Italian State Street , 1928 between Alessandria and Piana Crixia has been set. It goes back to the Strada nazionale 47, which was laid out in 1923 on the same route. Because of its leadership on the Bormida river , it bears the title "di Val Bormida" . Its length is 69 kilometers. Between Alessandria and Gamalero , the SS30 was moved to bypass roads and the old route is provincial road with the numbers 187 and 244. Another bypass runs around Acqui Terme to the south. In 2001 the SS30 was downgraded; in Piedmont to the regional road and in Liguria to the provincial road. In 2008 it was further downgraded to a provincial road in Piedmont; in Liguria again upgraded to a state road.
