features
They are medium-sized, yellow-green to straw-colored plants that form smaller lawns or grow individually in peat moss stands . The ascending or upright stems are mostly knotless. The cells in the middle of the leaf are elongated, linear, and on the base of the leaf next to the rib are shorter and wider. The inflated, hyaline leaf wing cells form a clearly separated group that runs down the trunk.
The species is diocesan . It is very rarely fruitful. The seta is up to 5 centimeters long, the spore capsule ovoid-cylindrical.
