Strange Is This World is the first English-language solo album by Polish artist Czesław Niemen . It was released in 1972 in West Germany on CBS Records .

background

In 1967, at the Midem music fair in Cannes , Niemen received a trophy for the most successful Polish record artist and an award from the US magazine Billboard . CBS then signed a record deal with him for the western world. According to press reports, CBS hoped that Eastern European artists would provide impetus and increase sales. The record is not a transfer of the first Niemen LP Dziwny jest ten świat , but a compilation of other titles and contains only four instead of 16 pieces. The title track is significantly longer compared to the Polish version.

The Polish band SBB was also involved in the production.

"I wanted to introduce something new, originally to rock music."
