Streit is a district of the city of Erlenbach am Main in the Miltenberg district .

The church village of Streit is located in the Spessart at about 280  m above sea level. NN on the district road MIL 27 between Erlenbach and Eschau . The Franconian Marienweg leads through quarrel .

history

In 1862 the district office of Obernburg was formed, on whose administrative territory there was a dispute. As everywhere in the German Reich , the term district was introduced in 1939. Dispute was now one of the 35 communities in the district of Obernburg am Main (later OBB license plate ). With the dissolution of the district of Obernburg, Streit came to the newly formed district of Miltenberg in 1972 (license plate MIL ). The OBB label has been possible again since 2018.

On May 1, 1978, the independent community of Streit was incorporated into Erlenbach am Main.

Oddities

In order to improve the quality of their arable land, the farmers drive their manure into the fields; there it must then be distributed, spread out. The soldier of farmers must this have done particularly well, because the neighboring towns gave them the nickname - Ortsnecknamen "Mistbraater".
