The dispute over Asterix (French original title: La zizanie ; literally: "The discord") is the 15th volume of the Asterix comic series , which was produced by the author René Goscinny and illustrator Albert Uderzo . It first appeared in 1970 in the French magazine Pilote (from issue 531) and in 1973 in a German translation by Egmont Ehapa Verlag . Asterix dispute has been translated into many other languages, including English, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish.

action

Julius Caesar and his advisors think about how they can attack the indomitable Gauls around Majestix and Asterix. They know that although they are quite contentious, they always stick together in an emergency. Then one of the advisors suggests that the Roman Tullius Destructivus be placed on the Gauls. He is gifted with skillful manipulation and intrigue to provoke arguments in every group. When his mere presence causes a dispute among Caesar's advisors, Caesar is impressed and gives Destructivus the task of dividing the Gauls.

He travels to one of the Roman camps near the Gallic village. On the way he managed to split the crew of the ship, and he quickly succeeded in sowing discord among the pirates and the crew of the Roman camp.

Destructivus goes to the Gallic village and announces that he would like to give the most important man in the village a valuable gift. When he did not give this to Majestix, as expected, but to Asterix, the inhabitants of the village quarrel due to envy, jealousy, inferiority complexes and other human weaknesses. Finally, Asterix is even suspected of being a friend of the Romans and of having told them the secret of the magic potion. Miraculix, Asterix and Obelix leave the village in protest to teach the Gauls a lesson. The Romans take this as an opportunity to get reinforcements and thus to take the now barely defensive village.

As the Roman units approach the village, Miraculix manages at the last second to bring the Gauls to their senses. With the help of the magic potion, the Gauls beat up the Romans as usual and presented Destructivus as their ally in revenge. He is sent back to Rome as a supposed traitor. The Gauls can celebrate their usual banquet on the occasion of another victory over the Romans.

Remarks

A special painterly effect in this album are green-colored speech bubbles as soon as there is an argument about Destructivus.

For the first time, the village women have a similarly high proportion of a story as the male protagonists. With the wives of Automatix and Methusalix, two more characters are introduced who also appear in later stories. Methusalix's wife is about 60 years younger than himself (and possibly the one he is still recreating in the opening image of the previous volume ).

Centurion Aerobus has the features of the actor Lino Ventura . He appears again in the cartoon Asterix - Victory over Caesar .

There is also a character named Destructivus in the real- life film Asterix and Obelix against Caesar , played by Roberto Benigni .
