history

Groß Strellin southeast of Stolpmünde (top left in the picture) on the Baltic Sea , west of the Stolpe river and northwest of the city of Stolp (previously written as Stolpe ) on a map from 1794.

The alley village, called Olden Strelyn in older times , originally belonged to a manor. According to a deed of donation, the authenticity of which is doubted, Duke Mestwin II left the estate to the knight Miroslaus, known as Roswaroviz , in 1277 . In 1294 the village is mentioned in a document from the Archbishop of Gniezno . In 1364 Johannes Gherwyn was plebanus in Strelyn . In 1366 Heinrich Puttkamer sold the mill belonging to the village to the Stolper citizen Herder Tramm and Johann Darsow from Starkow . Subsequently, the estate was owned by the city of Stolp for a while and then passed into the possession of the Colrep family .

Around 1784 there was a Vorwerk in Groß Strellin, six farmers, a kossaeteer , a schoolmaster, a water mill called Neue Mühle , which was the property of the miller , on the field of the village , a newly established sheep farm and six colonist families, including four half-farmers and a total of 21 households. At that time the estate was owned by the Below family . In 1804 a Herr Meske was the owner of the manor. In 1853 the estate was bought for 80,000 thalers by Gustav Mach , whose descendants owned it until 1945.

Until 1945, Groß Strellin belonged to the district of Stolp in the administrative district of Köslin in the province of Pomerania . Groß Strellin was the only place to live on the 814 hectare parish area. In 1925 there were 42 residential buildings in Groß Strellin, and 364 residents were counted, who were distributed over 64 households. In 1939 the village had 331 inhabitants in 69 households.

The region was occupied by the Red Army on May 8, 1945 towards the end of World War II . Subsequently, the place was placed under Polish administration and received the Polish name Strzelino . Great Strellin was renamed Strzelino . With a few exceptions , the German residents were expelled . Since there was a shortage of workers, some families were allowed to stay for the time being to manage the estate.

Later, 148 persons displaced from Groß Strellin were identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 77 in the GDR .

Around 480 people live in the village today.
