The village originally belonged to an estate district, the Streesen manor. Older forms of the place name, which is of Wendish origin, are Streisen and Stresen . In a loan letter from 1487, the Pomeranian Duke Bogislaw X. confirmed the sale of half of the village, with which a Hanß Dossowen had previously been enfeoffed, to the Order of St. John . The largest part of Streesen, consisting of 23 Hufen and the mill, was an old fiefdom of the v. Family according to the feudal letters of 1536, 1540 and 1714. Billerbeck; another part, consisting of 15.5 taxable hooves, was a fief of the v. family. Wince. After several changes of ownership, the manor passed into the possession of the war council Sydow and his sons in 1778.

Around 1780 there was a Vorwerk in Streesen, a water mill that was combined with an oil press and to which two Hufen owned land, six farmers, a schoolmaster and a total of 19 households. After further changes of ownership had taken place, among other things, Streesen belonged to District Administrator August Ernst von Schöning from 1790 to 1795 , the manor was bought in 1846 for 126,500 thalers by Domain Councilor Ernst Carl Ludwig Barkow († 1859). He bought the watermill and two farms in the village, so that in addition to the farm in the village of Streesen, only four farms remained. In 1862 the manor was sold to the Böhm family, who still owned it in the 20th century.

Around 1868, the field marrow of the manor had a size of 1,634.8 acres, of which 1,391.8 acres were arable land, 20 acres of meadows and pastures, 16 acres of gardens and two acres of water. The Vorwerk included ten residential buildings and three commercial buildings. The district of the village Streesen had an area of 634.8 acres, 559.4 acres of which were arable land. The village of Streesen had eight residential buildings and one commercial building. There were four farms in the village, a school where the sexton acted as a teacher, a blacksmith's shop and a brickyard. The Vorwerk Streesen and the village of Streesen were later incorporated into the municipality of Krüssow .

Until 1945, the village and Vorwerk Streesen were residential areas of the municipality of Krüssow in the Pyritz district of the Pomerania province .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region around Streesen was defended by the Belgian SS combat group 'Wallonia' until March 2, 1945, which gave up Streesen on March 3 and withdrew to Stargard. Then Streesen was captured and occupied by the Soviet Army . After the end of the war, the village was placed under Polish administration. Stresen was renamed Strzyżno . Unless the villagers had fled beforehand, they were subsequently expelled by the Poles from June 1945 .
