Sturle Holseter (born April 9, 1976 ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Holseter played his first World Cup competition on March 17, 1990 at the season finale in Raufoss . In the end, however, it was only enough for 76th place in jumping on the normal hill. A year later he played again in the season finale, but this year too in the jumping competitions in Trondheim , Oslo and Planica he was unlucky. He then took a break from competition for four years and did not start again in the World Cup until February 8, 1995. When jumping in Lillehammer he was able to jump into the points for the first time with a 16th place. At the start of the 1995/96 World Cup season he was able to jump into the top 10 for the first time in the first competition with 6th place in Lillehammer. This should also be the best placement in individual jumping in his international career for over a year. At national level, he was Norwegian champion with the team in Meldal in 1996 . It was not until January 18, 1997 that he jumped on the podium for the first time in a World Cup individual competition in Sapporo with 2nd place. It was his only podium he could achieve in his career. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim in 1997 , he was 15th in individual jumping on the normal hill. Shortly after the world championship, he won the bronze medal on the normal hill at the Norwegian championship in Mo i Rana . In the World Cup he was able to achieve respectable successes within the top 20, but he was denied top places or even the podium. After a rather mediocre 1997/1998 season , he ended his active ski jumping career after jumping on November 29, 1998, the opening event for the 1998/99 season in Lillehammer.
