Suðurstreymoy

Suðurstreymoy [ suwurstrɛimi ] "Südstreymoy" is the region in the south of the island of Streymoy ( Faroe Islands ).

In terms of area, the region is now identical to the municipality of Tórshavn (including the islands of Hestur , Koltur and Nólsoy ). Südstreymoy is a constituency for the Løgtings elections . The other constituencies are (with the colors of the adjacent map):

• Vágar (blue)
• Norðstreymoy (light green)
• Eysturoy (red orange)
• Norðoyar (yellow-orange)
• Sandur (purple)
• Suðuroy (turquoise)

Apart from Norðstreymoy this structure corresponds to the 6 Sýslur (Syssel). Hence there are 6 Syssel but 7 constituencies. The political parties of the Faroe Islands are also divided into corresponding regional associations according to the 7 constituencies.
