Sudbury Town is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Brent . It is located in the Travelcard tariff zone 4, between the Crescent station and the Orchard Gate. In 2013, 1.98 million passengers used this station served by the Piccadilly Line . About 350 meters to the north is Sudbury and Harrow Road station, owned by Chiltern Railways .

The Metropolitan District Railway (MDR, today's District Line ) opened a new route from Park Royal & Twyford Abbey to South Harrow on June 28, 1903 . The section between Ealing Common and Park Royal & Twyford Abbey had opened five days earlier. The new line was - together with the existing tracks from Acton Town  - the first electrified underground railway. On July 4, 1932, operations on the route between Ealing Common and Rayners Lane were transferred to the Piccadilly Line .

The station building was originally a simple wooden structure. This was demolished in 1930/31 in preparation for the handover of the line to the Piccadilly Line and replaced by a new building. Frank Pick , the managing director of London Underground, and the architect Charles Holden developed novel underground stations that combined functionalism and Art Deco and were groundbreaking for British architecture in the interwar period. Sudbury Town was the first of a whole series of structures of this type. The building, inaugurated on July 19, 1931, consists of a massive block of red bricks towering over a flat, functional building with high ceilings that allow plenty of natural daylight to penetrate the generously sized counter hall to let. The station has been a listed building ( Grade II ) since 1971 .
