Suicide Booth is a synth-electro-pop duo founded in Munich in 2007 . Suicide Booth is supported by various singers.

Band name and style of music

The band's name Suicide Booth means German "suicide cell" and comes from the US science fiction - animated series Futurama . Suicide cells offer fast, painless or slow, excruciating possibilities for suicide for a small fee .

The duo's sound is influenced by “ Planet der Vampire-style B-movies , 1980s synth pop and New Wave .

history

The band was founded in April 2007 by the two musicians Spif Anderson aka Lennart ( Roman Bichler ) and Stefan Fenzel.

In 2007, the duo released the vinyl EP Aura 12 with five titles on the Berlin label das drehmoment . The first hundred copies were pressed in red vinyl. There were also various remixes , including for Eisenfunk .

In 2008 Danse Macabre released their debut CD Terror From the Sky with 14 tracks. The album reached number 3 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC). Numerous concert appearances brought the band to prominence in the black scene . Among other things, Suicide Booth performed as support for Kirlian Camera at the ELekTroShokK festival in the Live Factory in Adelsheim in 2009 .

After Fenzel left the project, the musician, music journalist and radio presenter Daniel Dreßler took his place in 2009 . In 2010 Suicide Booth released the second album entitled We Are the Future with First & Only Records with 12 songs. The album was presented as part of a joint concert with at least in.a.box and contrast in the Metropolis in the Kultfabrik .
