Sunday Adelaja
Sunday Sunkanmi Adelaja (born May 28, 1967 in Idomila near Ijebu-Ode , Ogun , Nigeria ) is a Christian preacher . He is the founder and pastor of the charismatic - Protestant Embassy of God ( Ukrainian : Посольство благословенного Царства Божого для всіх народів) in Kiev , the capital of Ukraine .
The church claims to have around 20,000 members in Kiev alone. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church and various anti-Western political groups have repeatedly sharply criticized Adelaja in the past. He is mainly accused of being a foreign body in Ukraine and of contributing to the "westernization" of Ukraine with his activities.
Life
Adelaja grew up in the village of Idomila near Ijebu-Ode in Nigeria. He converted to Christianity in 1986. After graduating from school, he studied journalism at the Belarusian State University in Minsk . After graduating, he devoted himself to building up his church.
