Sunil Gulati

Sunil Gulati (born July 30, 1959 in Allahabad , India ) is an American economist and football official with Indian roots.

Life

Born in India, Gulati moved to the United States with his parents as a child. There he attended the local high school in Cheshire , Connecticut and later studied at Bucknell University and Columbia University . From 1986 to 1990 he worked in the Faculty of Economics at Columbia University before moving to the World Bank in 1991 . From 2006 to 2018 he was the successor to Robert Contiguglia as President of the US Football Association ( USSF ), and since 2013 a member of the FIFA Executive Committee . At the same time, Gulati teaches as a senior lecturer at his alma mater Columbia University.
