Kōzō Tashima ( Japanese 田 嶋 幸 三 , Tashima Kōzō ; born November 21, 1957 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a Japanese football official, as well as a former football player and coach.

Career

In 1976 he won the Japanese high school championships with his team from the Urawa South School. He then studied sports science at the University of Tsukuba .

1979 Tashima made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Tashima made seven international appearances and scored one goal. From 1980 to 1982 played for Furukawa Electric (today: JEF United Ichihara Chiba ).

He then studied from 1983 to 1986 at the German Sport University Cologne , where he acquired a B coach license. After his return he was a technical trainer ( coach ) of the football club of his alma mater and then taught for several years at Rikkyō University . In 2001 he coached the U-17 team , which he led back to the preliminary round of the World Cup for the first time since 1995.

He is the vice president of the Japan Football Association and has served on the Executive Committee of the Asian Football Confederation since 2011 . In April 2015 he was elected to the FIFA Executive Committee.
