Sunterra is an Austrian symphonic metal band.

history

The band Sunterra emerged from the Virgin Seed formation in 1998 and was founded by Chris Schön (bass), Friedl Schütz (guitar), Lilly (vocals), Elmar (keyboard) and Mick (drums). Together with singer Christian G. Sunterra recorded the debut album "In Diebus Illis" and released it on the band's own label Tombstone Records . On the basis of this sound carrier the band plays u. a. at the Brutal Assault Festival and in support of Agathodaimon .

After singer Christian G. quits, his successor Carlos introduces the flute as an integral part of the band's sound. In 2002 the second album "Lost Time" was released through Wait & Bleed .

A year later, the third studio album "Graceful Tunes" was released via CCP Records . a. performs at Forestglade Open Air and as opening act for bands like Tanzwut , Subway to Sally and Crematory .

In the summer of 2006 the band decided to take an undefined break.

In the summer of 2015, Sunterra announced on their Facebook page that they were working on new material with a new line-up. They also sign a record deal with the independent label NRT-Records, which will reissue the band's previous albums and on January 20, 2017, the mini-album "Reborn" will be released.
