history

The ship as SuperStar Virgo

The ship was built as SuperStar Virgo at Meyer Werft in Papenburg for the shipping company Star Cruises and undocked on April 17, 1999 and transferred to the North Sea on June 28, 1999. On August 2, 1999, the ship, the second Leo class, was handed over to the Star Cruises shipping company four weeks earlier than planned in Eemshaven . The ship initially sailed under the Panamanian flag .

The ship has been flying the flag of the Bahamas since 2013 .

At the beginning of 2014 the ship was completely renovated.

In 2019 the ship at Sembawang in Singapore was rebuilt and renamed Explorer Dream in March 2019 . The ship has been used by Dream Cruises since March 2019 . She was baptized in Shanghai in April .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by diesel-electric technology . For the power supply are four MAN - Diesel generators (type 14V48 / 60) are available. A Caterpillar emergency generator (type: 3512B DITA) was also installed.
