Surendranagar Dudhrej ( Gujarati સુરેન્દ્રનગર દૂધરેજ ) is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat .
The city forms the administrative seat of the Surendranagar district . Surendranagar Dudhrej is located 100 km west-southwest of the metropolis Ahmedabad . Surendranagar Dudhrej was created through the merger of the two neighboring cities Surendranagar (સુરેન્દ્રનગર) and Dudhrej (દૂધરેજ). As a city, it has the status of a municipality ( Nagar Palika ). It is divided into 14 wards . At the 2011 census, Surendranagar Dudhrej had almost 178,000 inhabitants. The population consists of 76.82% Hindus , 14.27% Muslims and 8.53% followers of Jainism .
