Susanne Klingner (* 1978 in Berlin , GDR ) is a German journalist and author . In her texts, she primarily deals with questions of feminism , the Do It Yourself movement and trends in consumer society.

Along with Barbara Streidl and Meredith Haaf, Klingner is one of the three authors of the feminist work “Wir Alpha Girls. Why feminism makes life more beautiful ”. Together with her two co-authors, she started the feminist blog girls team , which she left in 2011, parallel to the creation of the book in October 2007, which was nominated for the Grimme Online Award and the Alternative Media Award .

Live and act

Klingner studied political science and journalism in Leipzig and then completed an internship at taz . She lives in Munich and writes as a freelance journalist a. a. for the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Friday . From 2010 to 2012 her monthly column “Die Farbe Lila” was published in the taz. She is co-founder and editor-in-chief of the business magazine PLAN W, which has been included with the Süddeutsche Zeitung every quarter since spring 2015. Since 2013 she has been on the board of Frauenstudien München eV

In the feminist initiative Frau Lila, Klingner works together with Barbara Streidl and Katrin Rönicke to increase the visibility of women on the internet. To this end, they started the blogger magazine "Featurette". In addition, she records a regular podcast with Katrin Rönicke, the "Lila Podcast"

Awards

The location initiative “Germany - Land of Ideas” honored Susanne Klingner as one of the “100 women of tomorrow” who, according to the initiative, “are active with leading ideas in very different areas and make their contribution to the future of Germany in a variety of ways”.
