Barbara Streidl (* 1972 in Munich ) is a German author , journalist and musician . In her journalistic work, she deals a lot with women and family issues.

Live and act

Barbara Streidl studied Medieval Studies , Modern German Literature and Comparative Literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . After graduating, she worked for Bayerischer Rundfunk / Zündfunk as an author, presenter and radio producer as well as for Süddeutscher Verlag / Jetzt.de and other media companies. Since 2013 she has been on the board of Frauenstudien München e. V. From 2015 to 2017 she was part of the Family Policy Commission of the Heinrich Böll Foundation .

Along with Susanne Klinger and Meredith Haaf, Streidl is one of the three authors of the feminist work We Alpha Girls. Why feminism makes life more beautiful . Together with her co-authors, in October 2007 she started the feminist “blog” girls' team , which was awarded the Deutsche Welle blog award The BOBs as the best German-language weblog (2008) and was nominated for the Grimme Online Award and the Alternative Media Prize, parallel to the creation of the book she left in 2011.

Streidl's music projects include bands such as Die Moulinettes , which attracted international attention with a cover version of the TV theme song Herr Rossi sucht das Glück , and the band The TriSonics . Streidl plays the double bass and electric bass .

Together with Susanne Klingner and Katrin Rönicke , Streidl is committed to increasing the visibility of women on the Internet. To this end, they launched the blogger magazine Featurette . In addition, she records a regular podcast with Klingner and Rönicke, the Lila Podcast . Since 2014, Streidl has also been on the board of the Women's Studies Association in Munich , which holds regular events as a “thinking space for women” and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018.

Streidl lives with her family in Munich .
