Susanne Reichrath
Susanne Reichrath (born June 19, 1961 in Saarbrücken ) is a German politician . She has been the Minister-President's representative for science, universities and technology in Saarland since 2012. Before that, from 2004 to 2012 she was State Secretary in the Saarland Ministry of Education, Family, Women and Culture.
biography
After graduating from the Marie-Luise-Kaschnitz grammar school in Völklingen in 1980, Susanne Reichrath studied agricultural science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (CAU) from 1980 to 1985 . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Agricultural Policy and Market Studies at the CAU until 1990. The doctorate also took place in 1990. In the same year Reichrath took up a position in the office of the Science Council . She worked there in various functions, most recently as head of the medicine department. At the same time, Reichrath worked as an expert in various areas. In 2000, Reichrath moved to the Saarland administration and became department head for science and research in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
State Secretary
After the state elections in Saarland in 2004 and the formation of the Müller II cabinet , Reichrath became State Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in October 2004 (since a change in the departmental structure in September 2007, Ministry of Education, Family, Women and Culture). She thus succeeded Hansgünter Lang . In this role she was coordinator for cultural affairs. After this office was abolished by the Minister of Education and Culture in 2012, Reichrath moved to the State Chancellery, where she was appointed the Prime Minister's Commissioner for Science, Universities and Technology. There she works with the rank of ministerial director.
