Susanne Riermeier

Susanne "Susi" Riermeier (married Saller ; born December 23, 1960 in Munich ) is a former German cross-country skier and runner.

Life

Riermeier was at a young age member of the DAV -Sektion Ebersberg and then went to the Munich Ski Club Hochvogel .

From 1978 to 1981 she won a total of eight German championship titles in cross-country skiing over 5, 10 and 15 kilometers. In 1980 she took part in the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid.

Then she devoted herself to long-distance running and in 1984 became German marathon champion on the route of the Bienwald Marathon with the still valid course record of 2:38:13 h. A year later, she set her best time in the marathon as third in the Frankfurt Marathon in 2:34:10 h. From 1975 to 1982 she won the Hochfellnberg run eight times in a row .

Her daughter is the triathlete Sophia Saller .
