Susanne Ingegerd Rydén (born October 2, 1962 in Hjärtlanda ) is a Swedish opera singer ( soprano ) who specializes in early music .

education

Susanne Rydén studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Schola Cantorum in Basel with René Jacobs and in London at the Gulidhall School with Jessica Cash . She regularly makes music with conductors, musicians and ensembles from the early music scene such as Christopher Hogwood , Masaaki Suzuki and the Bach Collegium Japan , Cantus Cölln , Joshua Rifkin and Emma Kirkby.

As an opera singer, she appeared at various European opera houses and festivals.

In 2004 she initiated the large-scale project “Christina's Journey”, a staged performance about the life of the Swedish Queen Christina . This production received various awards, including a. the honorary award for Rydén's services in the field of early music. Her CD recordings etc. a. at Harmonia Mundi , BIS , Avie , Caprice and CPO have been partially awarded critics prices.

From 1996 to 2002 Susanne Rydén taught at the Royal Music Academy in Stockholm, of which she was elected in 2007, and now teaches at various festivals around the world.
