Susanne Schempp
Susanne Schempp (born January 8, 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a German gospel , jazz and pop singer , songwriter , choir director , vocal teacher .
Life
Schempp, who graduated from high school in 1976, studied school music + pop at the Stuttgart University of Music from 1978 to 1985 .
From 1985 to 2001 and 2010 to 2017 she produced ten stage programs and seven CDs with the vocal trio Honey Pie. From 2001 to 2010 she was part of the a cappella quartet Salt Peanuts, which released three programs and three CDs and received the Hanns Seidel Songwriter Prize in 2003.
She was a jazz soloist in the University Big Band and the SWR Big Band (lead: Erwin Lehn ) and in bands with Werner Acker , Uli Gutscher , Klaus Wagenleiter , Martin Schrack . She has been co-founder and head of the Stuttgart pop singing school "GoVocal" since 1999. There she is director of the three choirs "Sixties in Motion", gospel choir and jazz choir "VocaLadies". Her arrangements and compositions are published by Klett , Helbling and Bosse .
Since 2008 she has been on a long reading tour with the Stuttgart author Elisabeth Kabatek (Laugenweckle for breakfast and much more)
With the percussionist Harald Mall she has been active in the duo "Takt & Töne" since 2015 (own songs on poems by Mall).
Schempp is married and has two children.
