Positions

In January 2016, she was interviewed in the features section of the FAZ about the events on New Year's Eve 2015 in Cologne, such as the term Taharrush gamea . In the discourse on dealing with Muslims from patriarchal societies and in gender research , she stated that the references "to social reality have been lost." In order to resolve conflicts, she sees the need to immediately develop and implement concepts for enlightenment. The local rules for dealing with the sexes must be explained to the refugees precisely and in the context of role-playing games. The men should have the opportunity to “learn the rules of our culture in gender contact and behave appropriately”, but also experience the consequences if they do not.

On May 8, 2019, Ms. Schröter organized a conference at the University of Frankfurt am Main with the topic: “The Islamic headscarf, symbol of dignity or oppression?” In the run-up to this, there were several attempts to prevent both this conference and Ms. Schröter to be removed from her position as lecturer.
