Susanne Stein Maßl

Susanne Stein Maßl (* 1985 in Freilassing ) is a German director and video artist .

Life

Stein Maßl comes from Fridolfing in Chiemgau and attended the Laufen grammar school. She is currently studying documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich . She previously studied literature , philosophy and political science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .

As part of the media art grant from the KIRCH Foundation and the University of Television and Film Munich, Stein Maßl designed an infinite smart film called The Future Is Not Unwritten , which is told together with an artificial intelligence and tells of the end of being human. The film was exhibited at the Dok Leipzig , the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas and the Digital Life Design Conference in Munich , among others . For her debut film An Ton Kaun she received the 3sat Award for Directing.

Since 2018 she has been working as a video artist with theater director Christopher Rüping , most recently for the 10-hour play Dionysos Stadt at the Münchner Kammerspiele . Dionysus Stadt was invited to the Theatertreffen in Berlin in 2019 .
