Suzanne Dowaliby

Suzanne Dowaliby-Kipper (born September 27, 1965 in New York City ) is an American musical actress and singer.

Life

Dowaliby was born in New York City and grew up in New York and Norfolk ( Virginia on). Her stage career began at the age of three. She trained in dance with Gene Hammett (Norfolk Civic Ballet-Norfolk / Virginia), Romana Krysanovska (School of American Ballet-New York), June Eve Story (HB Studio-New York) and Gwen Spear Meng (Old Dominion University -Norfolk / Virginia), in acting with Michael Tick (New York University-New York) and Rochelle Oliver (HB Studio-New York) and in singing with Gudrun Bär (Saarbrücken), Ingrid Oloffson (Vienna) and Lucille Liverman ( New England Conservatory-Boston / Massachusetts)

She has lived in Saarbrücken , Germany, since her Cats tour in the 1990s . Here she works as a singer, lecturer at musical and singing workshops, as head of the musical group at various schools and teaches singing to students. Among other things, she staged the musical comedy Winnifred-Once Upon A Mattress in 2006 with the Musical- A G of the Gymnasium am Schloss (GaS) Saarbrücken in cooperation with the Musikhochschule Saar and her long-time friend Matthias Ernst .

From 2007 to 2008 she staged the tap dance musical Anything Goes by Cole Porter with the musical group of GaS Saarbrücken . Matthias Ernst took over the musical direction again. The premiere took place on June 23, 2008 in the auditorium of the GaS in Saarbrücken. From autumn 2008, rehearsals and preparations for the production of the musical Godspell by Stephen Schwartz began with the same crew . The premiere took place on March 27, 2009.

After some AG members left school because of high school diploma or other reasons, Dowaliby called for a new casting for a new musical crew. With this crew she staged the Broadway musical Pippin by Stephen Schwartz for the 2010 season . She is currently directing the Broadway musical Oliver! The premiere will take place at the end of June.

In 2012 she played Mrs. Pommeroy in "From the Spirit of Christmas" at the Colosseum Theater in Essen.
