Suzuki TU 250 X

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Suzuki TU 250 X (Volty) is the successor to the Suzuki GN 250 . The engine remained largely unchanged, there were modifications to other components. In terms of appearance and impression, the TU 250 can be described as a “retro motorcycle”. The TU 250 X (Volty) was offered in German-speaking countries around the turn of the millennium, but not sold in large numbers.

engine

The engine of the Suzuki TU 250 X (Volty) is identical to that of the Suzuki GN 250 and the Suzuki GZ 250 (Marauder). The TU 250 X does not have a standard tachometer, the connecting piece is present, but it is encapsulated at the factory so that the tachometer shaft cannot be screwed in. It is a single cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft and four valves. In the operating instructions engine oil of the classification API SF or SG with the viscosity SAE 10W40 is listed. The lubrication works with a wet sump. The engine oil also lubricates the gearbox, so you should also pay attention to compliance with the "JASO MA" standard. In practice, mostly mineral or partially synthetic motor oil is used. There are no problems when using better engine oil than API SF, this classification is "out of date". The oil change interval is given as 5000 kilometers or five months. The compression pressure during the pressure check of the engine is in the range of 10 to 14 bar (kPa) in the normal range and below 8 bar (kPa) an overhaul of the engine is due.

An electric starter is available as standard (no kick starter). The starter is powered by the 12 volt 11Ah battery.

The transmission has five gears.

bikes

Wire spoke wheels are mounted at the front and rear.

The front rim bears the inscription "TAKASAGO J 18 × 1.85 DOT JAPAN" with a tube and a tire size 3.00-18 (47S), at the rear "TAKASAGO J 17 x MT2.50 DOT JAPAN" with a tube and a tire size 120 / 80-17 (61S).

The front is decelerated with a perforated brake disc with single-piston pliers and the rear with a (simplex) drum brake. The spring travel is 120 mm at the front and 110 mm at the rear.
