Store Svelmø and Lille Svelmø are two small Danish islands that have been uninhabited since 2005 in the Danish South Pacific near Faaborg . Store Svelmø is 27 hectares in size. The islands belong to the parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) Åstrup Sogn , which belonged to Harde Sallinge Herred in what was then Svendborg Amt until the Danish municipal reform in 1970 , then to what was then Faaborg Kommune in what was then Fyns Amt , which was part of the local government reform on January 1, 2007 in the Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality in the Syddanmark region has risen.
