Sven Lefkowitz
Sven Lefkowitz (born August 14, 1968 in Werther (Westphalia) ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since June 8, 2019 .
Biographical information about the person
Sven Lefkowitz has lived in Neuwied since his early youth . He is Protestant, has a daughter and is a state-approved geriatric nurse and social business economist (FWIA).
Education and professional career
After graduating from high school in 1989 at Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium Neuwied , Lefkowitz completed his community service until 1991. Between 1991 and 1999 he studied political science , sociology and education at the University of Bonn and the FernUniversität Hagen (without a degree).
From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a nursing assistant in the Andernach State Neurological Clinic . This was followed by three years as a worker in the Neuwied freight center of Deutsche Post AG . In 1999 Lefkowitz moved back into the care sector, so that he worked as a care assistant in the Senioren-Residenz Linz GmbH Sankt Antonius until 2003 and, at the same time, completed part-time training as a state-approved geriatric nurse . In the senior citizens' residence in Linz, Lefkowitz was also chairman of the works council from 2000 to 2006. Between 2003 and 2004 he trained to become a residential area manager; from 2004 to 2006 followed a two-year further education as a nursing manager. From 2003 to 2007 Lefkowitz was deputy living area manager in the senior citizens 'residence in Linz, from 2007 to 2008 living area director of the AWO senior citizen center Saaler Mühle in Bergisch Gladbach and from 2008 to 2011 again the care service director in the senior citizens' residence in Linz. In 2010 he trained as a social business economist (FWIA). From 2012 to 2019 he was the facility manager.
On June 8, 2019, Lefkowitz replaced the resigned MP Fredi Winter in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .
Member of Parliament - Political and Social Functions
Lefkowitz has been a member of the SPD since 1992 .
He has been an elected member of the Neuwied City Council since 1994, and has also been a member of the Neuwied District Council since 2009 . Since 2012 he has been chairman of the SPD city council group in Neuwied and since 2019 deputy chairman of the SPD district council group in Neuwied. From 1996 to 2015 Lefkowitz was chairman of his local SPD association Heddesdorf . Since 1994 he has also been a member of the SPD Neuwied district executive; he is currently their press officer.
On June 8, 2019, he followed the resigned MP Fredi Winter for constituency 4 in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament . He is a full member of the Committee for Social Affairs and Labor, the Tourism Study Commission and the Petitions Committee. He is a deputy member of the Committee on Environment, Energy, Food and Forestry, the Committee on Economics and Transport and the Prison Commission.

Sven Lefkowitz is active in various associations in addition to his full-time job as a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .
