Sven Lohmann

Sven Lohmann (born November 11, 1974 ) is a German journalist . He is a television correspondent in the ARD studio in London.

Career

Sven Lohmann began his journalistic career in 1998 as a sports reporter for NDR radio. For NDR 90.3 he reported on football, tennis and equestrian sports. Lohmann studied politics, business administration, public law and sport at the Universities of Kiel and Hamburg. In 2003 he began a traineeship at Norddeutscher Rundfunk .

He then worked as a writer for programs such as NDR Aktuell , ZAPP and Panorama . In 2010 he became editor-in-chief of the NDR show Menschen und Headlines and at the same time developed the political magazine Panorama 3 for NDR television. With the start of broadcasting in August 2012, Lohmann will head the editorial team of Panorama 3. Together with the ARD program Panorama and the reporter format Panorama die Reporter, the program is part of the Panorama brand family. In January 2020, Lohmann moved to the ARD studio in London as a correspondent.

Awards

In 2019, Sven Lohmann, together with Volker Steinhoff and Dietmar Schiffermüller, received the Grimme Prize for special journalistic achievement, on behalf of the Panorama editorial team and their reporting on the events at the G20 summit in Hamburg. In 2006 Lohmann was awarded the Otto Brenner Prize .
